Fish and Win at the Ladies, Let’s Go Fishing Screamin’ Reels Tournament May 15-17 in Islamorada
ISLAMORADA, Florida Keys (March 19, 2026) - Casual anglers and fishing enthusiasts are invited to fish the Ladies, Let’s Go Fishing (LLGF) Screamin’ Reels Tournament May 15-17, with tournament activities hosted at the Florida Keys Elks Lodge in Tavernier, just north of Islamorada.
Hosted by the nonprofit Ladies Let’s Go Fishing Foundation, this unique, non-intimidating tournament welcomes anglers to fish for inshore or offshore species while learning valuable fishing skills in the Florida Keys.
The action-packed weekend kicks off on Friday, May 15 with a presentation on fishing rules and conservation, plus a meet and greet fundraiser from 6:30-8 pm at the Elks Lodge.
On Saturday and Sunday, participants take to the water in a friendly competition aboard private boats or guided charter boats. The 2025 event saw 110 fish hooked across inshore and offshore categories.
Over $1,000 in individual angler prizes include Penn rod and reel combos, art prints, shirts and more. Awards include top offshore and inshore fish, releases, wild card prizes and more.
Each year the LLGF Screamin’ Reels tournament offers casual rules and a fun atmosphere. For those without a boat, charter boat slots fill quickly, so early registration is recommended. Registration is $95 for early entry; $115 regular entry for adult anglers; and $55 for teens. Registered attendees receive $20 in gifts and a chance to win tournament prizes.
“This is a fantastic opportunity for women to build their fishing skills while enjoying time on the water,” said LLGF founder Betty Bauman. “It’s also a perfect Mother’s Day gift for moms and daughters to share an unforgettable experience.”
LLGF is hosting another Florida Keys event October 16-18, featuring a full-day fishing seminar, two days of fishing, and the Fishing Fever Tournament with prizes. It also hosts the Islamorada Women’s Sailfish Tournament slated for Feb. 5-7, 2027.
The LLGF series is supported by major partners including Mercury, Magic Tilt trailers, Power-Pole, Penn, Lowrance and Fish Florida.
