Race World Offshore Key West Championships Thrills Fans on the First Day of Racing
KEY WEST, Florida (November 5, 2025) – Fearless, action-packed, strategic and high-stakes rivalry – that’s what powerboat race teams unleashed on the tropical waters right offshore Key West, Florida, on Wednesday, Nov. 5, for day one of world championship competition.
The 44th annual Race World Offshore Key West World Championships on Wednesday had a record number of 98 race teams from across the U.S. and seven international entries hitting the water at Key West Harbor.
“The energy is electric as teams battle for crucial points in front of thousands of fans lining the Navy Outer Mole and XINSURANCE VIP area,” Race World organizers said Wednesday. “The Key West World Championships is delivering nonstop offshore powerboat action.”
“Powerboat Week” brings three days of raw horsepower, high-speed racing to the island, plus a full schedule of VIP parties, meet-and-greets with race teams and a closing awards ceremony.
Races resume on Friday, Nov. 7. The final race day is Sunday, Nov. 9.
Dirty Money Racing is the defending Supercat Racing World Champion, with driver Brit Lilly and Bill Pyburn on the throttles.

Key West’s 4-plus mile-per-lap, spectator-friendly course is one of the world’s most dynamic venues
Fans can watch the races from vantage points including the Race Village at Truman Waterfront Park, Fort Zachary Taylor Historic State Park, Mallory Square, Sunset Pier, Simonton Street Beach, and harbor front hotels with water views.
