‘Red Dirt’ and Americana Artists to Star at Key West’s Mile 0 Fest
Fans can “zero in” on some of the United States’ best Americana and Red Dirt music Tuesday through Saturday, Jan. 23-27, when the genres’ leading acts gather in subtropical Key West for the annual Mile 0 Fest.
The festival, whose name refers to the island city’s location at the beginning of U.S. Highway 1 at mile marker 0, is to feature several dozen shows by more than 60 artists and groups during its five-day span. Events are headquartered at the Coffee Butler Amphitheater, located on Quay Road in Key West’s Truman Waterfront Park.
Featured acts range from well-known favorites to new faces, all embracing the Red Dirt and Americana musical styles that blend elements of rock, country and American roots traditions. Attendees can anticipate performances by genre standouts including the Randy Rogers Band, Morgan Wade, William Clark Green, Shane Smith & The Saints, Wade Bowen, the Red Clay Strays, American Aquarium, the Band of Heathens, Jack Ingram and Django Walker among others.
While enjoying the onstage action in Key West’s subtropical “winter” climate, audience members can purchase offerings from local food trucks, mobile bars and other vendors to round out the festival experience.
Now in its seventh year, Mile 0 Fest has become a renowned musical gathering lauded for its laid-back Key West atmosphere, camaraderie among repeat attendees and the opportunity for up-close interaction with featured performers.
As well as the mainstage shows scheduled from 5 p.m. to midnight, acoustic sessions and intimate performances are to be presented at popular bars, resorts and theaters around the island city.
Among festival admission options are five-day packages that include accommodations, entrance to all event venues, private VIP parties, a live-music sailing excursion and more. Five-day and single-day passes, each allowing entrance to all event venues, also are available.
